A Funny Story and Best Shot Friday

Do you know that there is a subject that can be brought into any conversation anywhere at anytime that women will bond over?

No, it’s not motherhood or child rearing or sharing recipes or cleaning and organizing tips.

It’s changing out the toilet paper. Comic strips have been written about it. It’s been acted out tv sitcoms. I’ve heard my Mother state that she can go into any restroom in the city of Pensacola, be it public or private, and she will have to change the toilet paper out.

If I had a dollar for every time I had to swap out a tube I’d have all the pretty camera gear my heart desires and my pinterest boards would be more reality than inspirational day dreams. Okay, maybe not but you get my point.ย It happens. A lot. But not normally more than once in a day.

So imagine my surprise when it happened three times. In. The. Same. Bathroom. The empty one was always back on the roll and the toilet paper was on the back of the toilet. I was perplexed. Flummoxed. Confuzzled.
I was hosting our weekly mom’s group but none of the kids used my bathroom. Everyone eventually left except for one friend. Now the B family has a quirky sense of humor but was my friend really swapping out the toilet paper rolls as a practical joke?

Turns out she wasn’t because it happened again after she left. But this time I knew who the culprit was. My beloved was home and he had popped in earlier during the day as well, only I had been too distracted to put the pieces together. He tried so hard to keep a straight face when I confronted him about it. But he was so pleased and amused with himself he couldn’t help but laugh. Which made me laugh.

I love that man. He keeps my life fun.

Now for part two of the title. One slightly blurry garden fairy from Wednesday night:

  2. Hahaha! That is too funny! ๐Ÿ™‚ Our boys collect the empty rolls for projects, so they are always thrilled when one gets emptied around here!!!Love the picture! It almost looks as if she is about to disappear just as a fairy does sometimes!

  3. I found an idea on pinterest (surprise!) using toilet paper tubes…cover them with construction paper decorated and cut a head of time to fit. Fill it with candy and small toys and wrap with cellophane and tie ribbon on either end. I think at least one of my kids will be doing this for classroom Christmas gifts ๐Ÿ™‚
